Edward Charles Ericson was born 24 August 1856 in Finspång, Östergötland, Sweden to Eric and Johannah Eriksson. He arrived in the United States (NY) in 1865 with his mother, Johannah Christina Norden Ericson and younger brother, Eric William.
Edward Charles married Sylvia Ann Hayes 22 February 1881 in the Dakota Territory. They raised three children; Harry Francis, Nellie Hayes, and Sylvia Florence.
Edward Charles died 8 February 1910 in Flandreau, Moody, South Dakota. He was just 53 years old. Edward was survived by his wife Sylvia, daughters Nell and Florence, mother Johannah, and brother Eric William. Edward's son, Harry died in 1903.
